Wait staff at bar and restaurant are excellent. Food is average pub food. Facility, while in a beautiful location, is run down. Almost nobody there and difficult to get into most weekends due to being closed often for special events. Needs major makeover

The course is a great test of golf, was a member for two years but couldn’t find a game on weekends. The head pro has the personality of wet dish rag. I was there for two years and I that time he said 4 words to me and it was when I had a guest, and he said what’s your account number. I have no idea how he has kept his job there. The outside staff was very good along with the asst. Pro who was very nice and should be the head pro. Also he lady that worked in pro,shop was also very nice.

Overall, you will have a poor experience here. First off, we got on our cart after paying and there were no pencils. I grabbed one off one of the other ten carts empty and the cart boy yelled, “HEY, don’t take pencils from other carts.” Ok why don’t you put them on all the carts in the first place. (I put my bag on before I checked in and wasn’t thinking about a pencil on a cart.) Anyways, there is *NOBODY on the course or practice facility. My tee time was 11:38 and I was finishing up on the range at 11:32. Cart guy says, “You better hurry up and head to the tee.” Normally I would come 10 minutes before but there was nobody there. Kind of rude to say considering the fact that I was getting ready to leave for the first tee. On the course, it was soaking wet. Talking about *EVERY drive spin back in the fairway. It didn’t rain in the past 4 days so maybe the course doesn’t play well. You basically have to fluff the ball up in fairway due to the lack of grass. It’s 3:45 and I am on hole 15. Cart guy comes out and says, “Looks like you are going to need to skip a few holes. Let’s count. 15, 16, 17, 18. That’s 4 holes. Carts had to be in by 4:45 and that’s about 15 minutes per holes as a single on a cart. Listen bud, I know you need to get back to hit the liquor bottle but chill out ok. As I finished at 4:33, he was half asleep and didn’t even says how was the round or hope you had a good time. Just don’t come here if you want to have a nice relaxing round of golf.

Had my Gramas 90th birthday here. Very large and well kept on the inside. Staff is absolutely delightful.

The only possible problem I could anticipate is that I only noticed one ladies room with two stalls- large but only two.

I had my wedding ceremony and reception there. The venue was GORGEOUS and the staff were amazing! The food was delicious, and my experience was perfection. Highly recommend Santa Lucia River Club to those looking for a beautiful waterfront venue.
